A Dramatic Entrance

Was she responsible for Winter Storm Riley that blasted through the North East on March 1st? We like to think her entrance on February 28th set up the conditions for the most recent bombogenesis. A Bomb cyclone.

Don’t let her serenity fool you. Our tiny titaness was born blue, and after some tense minutes in this harsh new world, Rhea’s cyanosis gave way to kicking and screaming. It was the begining of her ultimately victorious, but initially frightening first few days.

Everyday we were in the NICU, we received more and more positive news. We were able to go home on Sunday the 11th with an excellent prognosis.

Now, Rhea is 3 weeks old and we’re planning a short trip to see Keiko, Claire, + Luke at the Swamp House. Cuteness is sure to ensue, and we’ll be posting the cousin’s very first meeting soon – keep your eyes peeled for some pics!
